Consert Inc. Fayetteville Public Works Commission Pilot Event
More than 100 Fayetteville Public Worlds Commission (PWC) residential and business customers are managing their energy consumption via the Consert solution which uses IBM and Verizon Wireless connectivity. The pilot’s goal is to reduce household energy use by 15 percent or more and commercial energy use by 8 percent or more as well as generate the data to allow the PWC to determine if enough energy can be conserved to offset some future energy needs.
DaAi Headlines 20100823 Making green HVAC works
Previously, we introduced you to the eco-friendly heating ventilating and air conditioning system, designed by the Harbin Institute of Technology — or HIT — in China’s northern Heilongjiang province, which uses sewage as a heat source and a heat sink. However, the system must have access to large amount of water at any given time. The problem is that sewage contains a lot of solid waste, and if it is not filtered, the system clogs up. Conventional water treatment and filtration are far too costly; thus, HIT has designed their own self-cleaning filtration system. ( Sewage helps heat hotel ) Situated by the Songhua River, in Heilongjiang Province’s capital of Harbin, this four star hotel has a hidden secret. In 2003, it decided to forsake traditional coal-fired boiler heaters and installed a greener HVAC, developed by the Harbin Institute of Technology. Hotel engineering department manager, Wang Shaoqi: “Oh, this heating system can keep room temperatures above 20 some degrees Celsius. It’s worth every penny. Back in 2003, when we had it installed, we estimated a four year return on investment, but now that coal prices have shot up, we can recover the cost of the system within a year.” ( Return on investment in 4 years ) In running a business, every penny counts. Using traditional coal-fired boilers, the 160-roomed hotel would need to purchase 3000 tons of coal a year for heating. With current coal prices at about 100 USD per ton, heating costs would be about 300000 USD …
SEARASER Wave Energy Device – How it works
Exciting new British invention Wave energy converter providing clean renewable energy on demand Find out more at: dartmouthwaveenergy.com This ingenious device can pump water upwards using the free and abundant energy in the waves. Once the water is stored at a useful height, it can be released back down driving a turbine and producing an abundance of clean renewable energy. Using pumped water storage is a great way to store energy cleanly to be accessed on demand. http The Searaser can also be used with offshore wind turbines, pumping water up the column of an offshore wind turbine, allowing it to fall and drive a hydro turbine adding more clean renewable electricity, ready to be fed to our homes. dartmouthwaveenergy.com Engineer and inventor Alvin Smith has come up with this marvellous device. The main aim is to help free up humanities addiction to dirty and finite fossil fuels. To find out more contact: Mr Alvin Smith dartmouthwaveenergy.com

Wind turbine How it Works and wind generator power
Shown is the basic working of wind turbine generators. The actual inner-workings are very complex and vary from turbine to turbine. Currently many areas are utilizing the renewable energy of wind to power homes and businesses, and many more areas have to potential. Wind will most likely not supplement a countries grid energy needs, but it can and is making a significant impact. Some businesses and houses run almost completely on wind energy and can even create enough excess energy to sell back to the power companies.
